Note:  I am respectfully requesting each officer who reported at the officers meeting to condense your report and submit a few lines or a paragraph to the full membership for the record.  It is very important for"EACH" officer to make a written report. Please stick the important issues of the chapter. I am open for suggestions and will need more input in the decison making process for our great chapter.

The business meeting will begin November 20th at 8:00 AM EST and continue until Sunday at midnight on November 26, 2000. The regular business meeting will continue and as indicated above. No change in dates and times.  If you are on - line early Novembe 20th, please feel free to make your report.  I just wanted to start off by setting a date and time for the meeting to begin and end.  Please indicate NO REPORT if one is not ready for submission at the meeting. Again, I am stressing for the importance of being totally organized. ALL officers are to make a written report.

At the conclusion of the meeting, I am respectfully asking Dr. Hicks to present a recap of the business meeting minutes, including attendance to the entire membership. This can be done with her time frame and discretion.

Again, thank you for supporting the District VII "Outstanding New Chapter", "20/20 Award winner "and "Shining Star" winner past president, Andre Elliott of the Walden University Phi Delta Kappa Cyberspace Chapter.

Respectfully submitted,

Documents for member review

This page models a basic format I would like to propose for future chapter meetings. A virtual "meeting room" like this would also include links to the minutes, the treasurer's report, and any other items to be submitted for member review. (Imagine it as similar to paper handouts at face-to-face meetings.). It would also be the place to launch program material.

Our officers group is having meetings the week prior to each general chapter meeting. That would be the time to prepare the meeting center content. The general meeting could be called to order by an email inviting all members to this website meeting center where the agenda and documents are posted. Discussion could still be conducted via email (until discussion threads can be woven into the web site--soon I hope!)

What do you think? Click here to send your comments to the membership listserve. (Remember that the listserve is being moderated at present, so posts do not go out immediately. They are queued and passed through to the listserve every few hours during meetings.)
