Idea 6: Broaden our institutional affiliation
Could it be that our affiliation with Walden University limits our potential? Would educators who affiliate with other universities feel more welcome to join our chapter if we broadened our affiliation? Could we do this, while still keeping strong ties with Walden?
I am hesitant to bring this up, because I do not want to step on any toes! But yet, I think it is something we should be discussing openly, and I hope to start some deep thinking and sharing about this question. Those of us who came together and launched this chapter out of experiences as members of the Walden community have an ongoing connection with the university through this chapter that I'm guessing most would like to keep and nurture. But we also have members now with no prior affiliation to Walden University. As we look at our growth and service potential in a broad way, does affiliation with Walden help or hurt chapter development opportunities?
