February 2004
"Affect Psychology in the Elementary School" This program was presented by Peg Lowmiller during our February 2004 joint meeting with the Tokyo, Japan PDK chapter. It was a follow up to our March-April 2003 program on "Restorative Justice". Lowmiller presented information about how the roots of bullying and violence are established in the way humans respond to shaming stimuli, and she provided concrete methods for training young children to understand and control their reactions to feelings of shame.
